That evening, I received a notification that our order had been delayed and was not expected in until Sept. 7! That was a week after we planned to leave. There was a "cancel" link in the email, so I clicked on that to cancel the order. I received no confirmation on the cancellation, and the next day the order appeared as "pending" on our credit card.

The day before we left, we noticed that the charge had been removed from the card. The day after we returned home, lo and behold, we receive both an email and phone call saying our order was in! I immediately called the store and explained the situation and the steps we had taken to cancel the order, and the representative said she would take care of it.

Needs to have some to practice better customer service (during the off-season) make me wonder what the holidays will be like dealing with certain employees

CONS: Sometimes, you have to go hunting for Staff To Get Help. Phone Often Rings Out When Transfered.

PROS: Clean, We'll organized, Helpful and Friendly Staff

It is by far the best Wal-Mart I have been in. Always clean and neat. You can tell people care about their jobs.

Not the best Walmart location I have ever been to. Never have enough registers open and are always standing in line. Customer service isn't so great in certain areas but overall it isn't too bad. Only visit this location on occasion for convenience sake.

I'm sorry to have to post this, as we have previously been entirely satisfied with ordering from Walmart on line, especially since they streamlined their pickup process.

The takeaway on this is: be careful what you order from Walmart on line. You can't depend on items being in stock simply because the website says they are, and the process of cancelling is way too complicated. If you do order on line, be sure you have enough time to allow the item to be shipped in if need be. Otherwise, visit the store for what you want and don't trust the website.

In this instance, however, Walmart seems to have some serious procedural and communications issues. We were in the Cornelia area for the eclipse on Aug. 21st. We happened to be looking for two kayaks and the website said they had them in stock. On that understanding, we ordered them, expecting them to be available the next day for pickup. The timing was important because we were only staying a short time and wanted them right away.

I called the store and they said they couldn't cancel it on their end. The representative said, don't worry, if you don't pick it up in seven days, we cancel it anyway. We don't like to work like that, and didn't want that charge on the credit card that long. We called the credit card issuer and they said they have no control over it unless they hear from the vendor. We then called the store again and I insisted on talking to a supervisor. After I stated the situation, she assured me that it she would see it was cancelled.
